An Ambient Sound Block.

The Ambient Sound Block is a block used to create different sound effects added in Version 1.8. It is used to create ambient noises to provide an environment for guest players. The interface allows a player to choose from over 40 different sounds to use. Players can also adjust the delay between sounds before looping (With a maximum of 300 seconds between each loop), the distance that players can hear the sound from (With a maximum range of 100 blocks radius), the volume, the time in which the block will play (During either Day time or Night Time), and if the block requires power to play.

How to ObtainEdit

Crafted using Wood Veneer in the 1st and 3rd slot, a Gold Bar in the 2nd slot, Steel Ingots in the 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th slots, and a Switch in the 5th slot.

How Ambient Sound Block Displays Sound

  • By going to Start > Game > Options > Graphic Options, you can select the option "Show Sound". This allows players to see the area the ambient sound blocks will be active, A very useful feature to help finding possible hidden Ambient Sound Blocks.
  • The "Note" sounds are the only sounds that are not intended for Ambient uses, and instead as a way for more musically orientated players to use.
  • There is a maximum limit of 5 Ambient Sound Blocks that can active within a region
