Depth: 54, sea level (Pre-1.8)

Depth is the distance, measured in blocks, downward from the top of a world. Your current depth is displayed on the lower left corner of your screen along side the world's name, health bar, and blueprint finder.

How it Works[]

  • In dig deep, depth increases when the player traverses deeper into the world, and it decreases the farther up in elevation a player is.
  • In game modes that are not dig deep, depth is indicated by the second axis of the player's position [x, Y, z]. In this case, the integer will decrease when the player proceeds deeper into the world, and will increase when the player increases their elevation.
