Difficulty is a mechanic that changes the way the game can be played. There are

5 difficulties: Peaceful, Easy, Normal, Hard , and Legendary.
Peaceful[]
Main Article: Peaceful Mode
Peaceful is for players that want a relaxing experience, without the bothersome enemies getting in the way, nor being able to receive any damage.
Easy[]
Added in the 1.9 update, this difficulty is an easier version of normal difficulty... It originally was made to remove dyrads and at the time, indians, from utilizing boom arrows that would leave craters everywhere.
- Player starts with 500
, 2 Obsidian, an Item Shop, a Block Shop, a wood pickaxe, and 4 Obsidian Shards. - It takes an 19 block to kill a player on easy difficulty.
- 1 HP/s regeneration rate.
Normal[]
The classic Total Miner experience.
- Player starts with 500, 2 Obsidian, an Item Shop, a Block Shop, a Wood Pickaxe, and 4 Obsidian Shards.
- It takes an 19 block fall to kill a player on normal difficulty.
- 1 HP/s regeneration rate.
Hard []
A more challenging way to experience the game. Added in 2.8 Beta.
- Player starts with nothing in their inventory.
- The player can take damage from 4 block falls.
- It takes a 15 block fall to kill a player on hard difficulty.
- 0.1 HP/s regeneration rate.
- The blueprint finder is disabled on dig deep
- The mini-map is disabled.
Legendary[]
Legendary is the most brutal difficulty for Dig Deep and Survival in Total Miner, first released in the 1.5 update.
Legendary can only be set at a world's creation; it cannot be modified during gameplay or in an existing world.
You will start off with nothing in your inventory at first. There will be no shops at your spawn (but the shops are craftable if you have the materials).
It will not be easy to survive on legendary difficulty. Health will not regenerate | Health regenerates very slowly, and you will be more vulnerable to damage.
- Inventory contains nothing upon world generation.
- The player can take damage from 3 block falls.
- It takes a 13 block fall to kill a player.
- Natural health regeneration is disabled | 0.05 HP/s regeneration rate.
- Blueprint finder is disabled.
- Mini-Map is disabled.
